Programme Overview
This teaser program introduces Training Needs Analysis (TNA) through experiential games so that TNA becomes something they have experienced, not just heard about.
By the end of the seminar, participants will be able to:
- Understand the purpose and importance of Training Needs Analysis in organisational performance.
- Distinguish between a training gap and a non-training performance gap.
- Identify the three levels of TNA
- Recognise at least five TNA data collection methods and when to apply each.
- Apply a basic TNA framework to a realistic workplace scenario.
Course Outline
Module 1. Ice Breaker Game
Module 2. The Challenge With Training
Outcome:
- You will be able to articulate the cost of jumping to training without investigation.
- Understand why skipping diagnosis leads to the wrong solution.
Module 3. Identify Training Gaps
In teams, you will diagnose a real-world performance problem and map the gaps between where things are now and where they need to be.
Outcome: You will be able to distinguish a training gap from a process, motivation, or resource gap.
Module 4. Introduction to the TNA Framework
Outcome: You will be able to place any performance gap within the correct TNA level and identify its root cause type.
Module 5. The TNA Quest & Data Collection Methods
Take part in a mystery activity to identify training gaps and TNA data collection methods.
Outcome:
- You will be able to select the right data collection method for a given TNA scenario.
- Explore TNA data collection methods through a hands-on mystery activity.
Closing MyONE TNA Commitment
